The Pool
One of our best amenities is the community pool which is usually open from Memorial Day to Labor Day. The pool is a great place to come relax, enjoy the sun, and go for a dip. Each unit receives a pool pass and each resident is allowed 3 guests with them at the pool. In addition to the pool, there is a locker room, bathroom with showers, and a BBQ area. There are plenty of lounge chairs and picnic tables for use. A pool attendant is on duty during pool hours.
The Pool House
The Windingbrook pool house provides a central location for various community events including the annual Christmas party and Fourth of July party. This facility can also be rented by residents for personal functions such as birthdays, bridal showers, or baby showers. The pool house is heated/air-conditioned with a full kitchen, private bathroom, picnic area with a charcoal grill, and tables and chairs available for use. The Pond
One of the main attractions of the property is the pond. The pond features a fountain which further enhances the park-like ambiance and provides a great location to watch the sunset. In addition to being visually pleasing, some residents enjoy the pond for fishing and observing wildlife. The pond is stocked with bass and carp which make for an entertaining day of fishing. The pond also attracts an abundance of wildlife, including our resident turtles and various bird species.
Claudia the Turtle
We are not sure who named her but this giant snapping turtle has been a resident of our pond for several decades now. She has been known to have lain upwards of 40 eggs some springs. You may see Claudia sunning herself as you walk near the pond during the spring and summer months!
Pet Friendly
If you walk around Windgingbrook it quickly becomes obvious that many of the residents are active pet owners. You might forget your neighbor's name, but everyone knows all of the Windingbrook pets! It is not uncommon to take one lap around Metacomet Drive and run into multiple neighbors with treats for other pets in one hand and the leash of their pet the another. Having a pet is a great way to meet your neighbors in our pet friendly community.
Tennis Court and Basketball Court
In the summertime our residents enjoy meeting neighbors and friends at our tennis court or basketball court for some exercise and fresh air.
The Gardens
The Windingbrook complex will be sure to catch your eye with the gorgeous landscaping all year round. The flowers bloom beautifully from spring to fall and nicely contrast the various trees and grass plots that dot the property. You can relax and enjoy yourself on one of the various benches among the flower beds. In addition to the professional landscaping, many residents enjoy having access to a resident maintained garden located next to the tennis courts. There residents can express their green thumb with plants of their choice.
